CALEL Journal invites researchers, scholars, and practitioners to submit their original manuscripts for consideration in our upcoming issues. We welcome high-quality research papers that contribute to the advancement of knowledge in language studies, literature, linguistics, and related interdisciplinary fields.

Submission Guidelines

Important Notice to Authors

Before submitting your manuscript, please carefully review our Paper/Author Guidelines to ensure your submission meets all requirements. Submissions that do not follow our guidelines may be returned without review.

Theoretical and applied linguistics
Literary theory and criticism
Comparative literature
Language acquisition and learning
Discourse analysis
Translation studies
Digital humanities and literary studies
Sociolinguistics and psycholinguistics

Interdisciplinary approaches to language and literature

Submission Requirements

Original, unpublished work
Manuscripts should be between 5,000-8,000 words
Formatted according to our guidelines
Include abstract (150-200 words) and keywords
Properly cited references in APA style

Review and Publication Timeline

Within 1 week

Initial acknowledgment of submission and preliminary review for completeness

2-4 weeks

Assignment to reviewers and start of peer-review process

6-8 weeks

Completion of reviews and editorial decision

8-12 weeks

Final revisions (if needed) and publication process

The entire process from submission to publication typically takes about 2-3 months for accepted papers.

Peer Review Process

All submissions undergo a rigorous double-blind peer review process:

Initial Screening: Editors check for compliance with guidelines and scope
Peer Review: At least two independent experts review the manuscript
Decision: Editor makes decision based on reviews (Accept/Revise/Reject)
Revision: Authors may be asked to revise based on reviewer comments
Final Decision: Revised manuscripts are evaluated for final acceptance
